Brise Soliel Sun Shade

With solar shading becoming ever more important within today’s modern building design specification of solar control products are now increasingly in demand.

Brise Soliel is solar shading that controls the considerable heat gain created by large areas of glazing in modern buildings in order to make conditions more comfortable for the people inside.

The use of external solar shading can dramatically reduce excessive heat by preventing direct sunlight from reaching the glass in the first place. It counteracts heat gain before it becomes a major environmental problem for occupants – who may already be coping with glare and reflected light problems from PC and other VDU screens.

It still allows unrestricted views through the windows and also enhances the aesthetics of a building, and avoids the need of heavy and unnecessary investment in air conditioning and ventilation systems which are expensive to install and costly to operate.

Interactive Special Projects is an acknowledged industry specialist in this relatively new branch of building science. Our Glazing Systems Division offers a number of solutions including specialist glazing and brise soliel systems. When considered as an integral part of the initial structure design they provide savings on both initial and future operating cost.
The blade profile – with the right combination of appearance and performance – will be dictated by architectural and structural influences. The options range from simple flat blades to complex aerofoil profiles.

The early involvement of our design team will ensure that the correct system is developed to achieve optimum performance.
